Longmont Vet Clinic's Donation helps Marine Dogs Brave Heat
A Longmont veterinary clinic is raising money to help bomb-sniffing Marine Corps dogs weather the Afghan heat.
Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists has raised $3,000 for injections of lactated ringer's solution, which helps the dogs stay hydrated as temperatures exceed 120 degrees.
"What a wonderful gift this organization has given to our four-legged Marines," Nori Jackson, the battalion's family readiness officer, said.
Extra money will help local emergency dogs, including those assigned to law enforcement and search crews.
To make donations, call Kelly Walker at 303-678-8844 or send checks payable to AMVS to 104 S. Main Longmont, Colo. 80501
