Oh No not diarrhea again!!!

In wonderful Colorado you’re able to go on a beautiful hike in the high country with your doggy companion. On those hikes many doggy companions take refreshing drinks from any standing water, and then end up getting Diarrhea. Why?
Colorado is the number 1 state that has diarrhea caused by a parasite named Giardia. This parasite lives in any standing water in Colorado or feces and is passed by drinking this contaminated water or eating the contaminated feces on their paws or skin. Giardia can survive in any mammal, so yes this means humans too. This parasite attacks the intestines that can cause diarrhea, vomiting, dehydration, poor health and malnutrition
Can Giardia be treated? Yes! A simple fecal test and Giardia snap test taken from the feces of the infected mammal will diagnosis the infection of the parasite, and a regime of antibiotics with a giardia vaccination will cure the infection.
How can we treat our mammal friends from getting this parasite named Giardia? There is a vaccine named the Giardia Lamblia vaccine that is a killed protozoa injected into the body. The first time any animal companion receives the vaccine they would need a booster 2-3 weeks later to ensure enough antibodies are built up in the body to last for an entire year, some require additional boosters.
Where can we get this vaccine? Animal Central!!!! Due to drug companies merging they have put a halt on the production of this vaccine, so what was made already is what’s left. Luckily Animal Central bought all the Giardia Vaccines available in the Nation. We at Animal Central believe strongly in preventing this ugly parasite from infecting our best animal friends. This is why we require the Giardia vaccine for doggies staying with us. Our standard of care is to prevent and treat this parasite infecting any doggy companion coming in our doors. Please call us at 303-469-7387 (PETS) or visit our website at www.animalcentral.net to learn more about Giardia or to schedule an appt. for this vaccine.
